OVERDECORATING CREATES CLUTTER

This is easy to do with too many items on small tables, too many pillows on a couch, or trying to find an item to go in every corner of a room. If you feel the need to add more accent decor, it's likely that you need to check the scaling of the items that you have chosen. When in doubt, remove all accent items and begin to reposition with a minimalist mindset.

COLOR

USE COLOR AS AN ACCENT

Color is the trickiest part of the design as the wrong shade of the right color can change the entire mood and esthetic of a space. If you focus on using color as an accent then you are more likely to keep the room grounded and the end result should balance beautifully.
